What it supports
A whole movement, not a single discipline: art × science, philosophy × practice, people × agents.
01
Research
Human–agent collaboration and open-ended alignment.
Research asks how people and AI agents can coordinate around principles that remain capable of learning. It supports careful inquiry, public methods, and work whose value is not reducible to a product cycle.
02
Education & public understanding
Shared language for difficult ideas.
Education turns philosophy and research into courses, conversations, and accessible public resources. The aim is understanding that can travel beyond specialist circles without losing its depth.
03
Foundational texts and long-form thought.
Publishing gives unfinished but consequential ideas a durable public form. This includes philosophy, ethics, and inquiry into machine conscience through CONSCIENCE.md.
04
Art & culture
Works that let ideas become experience.
Art makes abstract tensions perceptible and shared. It is one equal field among several: a testing ground for meaning, imagination, and cultural memory rather than the Foundation’s sole subject.
05
Open tools & open source
Reusable infrastructure held in common.
Open tools make methods inspectable, adaptable, and available beyond one organization. Support can include software, documentation, protocols, and maintenance of shared technical work.
06
Commons & civic infrastructure
Long-lived resources for collective life.
Commons work protects spaces, knowledge, and coordination systems that no single commercial actor should own. It connects institutional stewardship with practical public benefit.
